They can depict sprits or family, clan, & tribal ancestors-often with totemic animals on the forehead or chin. This wooden mask is painted with clay and vegetable-based paints, shell eyes. This mask was collected in August 1976 in the village of Kabriman on the Blackwater river. 19.75 inches tall.
