Male Ancestor figure, lower Sepik River. - #8233 $295.00

Ancestor figure from the lower Sepik River. Typical of this area, this male figure was painted black which is worn and polished. He is very nicely detailed and has shell eyes. He lost his ears a very long time ago as well as a piece of the base but since he is made of hardwood, he is solid. It is polished from use and shows a great deal of age, circa 1960 or earlier.
