Carved storyboards grew out of painted bark ceiling panels. Ancestor stories and legends were painted on bark panels to line the ceilings of the men’s house (Haus Tambaran) and a family’s home. Storyboards are carved on buttress roots from large trees or other slabs of wood. Kambot, Bobten, and Simondu Villages, Keram River, Papua New Guinea #ML-45 Storyboard measures 27.25 inches wide by 18 inches tall.
