This woven cane pig clan totem from the Tambunum Village of the middle Sepik River features strips of red, yellow, black and white clay and vegetable-based paints.

Woven totems, such as this, are a rare find in this area of New Guinea. Most woven clan totems come from villages like Mumeri farther up the river.

This totem, which is decorated with cassowary feathers, measures 17 inches long and 7.75 inches tall.
